Happy new planner day! There’s something about opening up a fresh planner for a new year! Open ended possibilities, I tell ya! New year, new home planner!
In years past, I have had different goals for my planners. I’ve had planners to keep up with school work or my career. Now that I run a household, my planner needs are different. I looked at so many planners on the market but nothing I saw really fit my needs! In keeping a home, there are many tasks that repeat daily. Some tasks are even repeated morning and night each day. I needed a planner that had ample checklist space for my home tasks as well as space for appointments and reminders.
I saw an ad on Facebook for the Passionate Penny Pincher home planner and knew right away that it was what I was looking for. My husband laughed when I told him about it because I am not a penny pincher LOL! But seriously, it checked all my boxes and more!
The weekly layout is Sunday-Saturday over two pages, and each day has a checklist for reminders and appointments. There is a header with a master checklist for daily home keeping tasks; there are two columns for morning tasks and afternoon tasks. That is important because like I said, there are some tasks (like wiping counters) that I do more than once a day! And how good does it feel to check something off a physical checklist?!
In addition to the master checklist of home keeping tasks, there are a few extra tasks each day (like wipe down mirrors, take out trash) to avoid cleaning your whole house on one day, and one focus task per week (like print photos from your phone and clean out old photo files!)
There is also a month at-a-glance planner, budget planner, planning checklists for holidays and vacations, seasonal checklists (and we know how I love a seasonal checklist!)
I spent this weekend putting some upcoming appointments and reminders in. It felt so good to fill in this week’s dinners, knowing I was ahead of the game!
Do you use a planner? Which one? Tell me about it in the comments!

I love planners!! My one issue though is if I have a ton to do, I get overwhelmed and don’t write it all down til I get over the stress and then sometimes it’s too late! Lol

Oh no! You’ll have to start list making when you only have a few things to do so that it won’t be too much!

I love planners! My favourite so far is The Happy Planner! But I am trying something new this year. I took a French course and I bough a local planner from our province for small business owners call the effic. The Panninate Pincher sound great too. I will have to check it out. Thanks so sharing!

I use the calendar on my phone as my planner these days, but back in the day, when the kids were young and constantly active with school, sports, and Scouts, I had a physical planner. My preference showed a month at a time across two pages. I loved Post-It tabs in different colors for their different activities and my three jobs. I could easily move the tabs if the schedule changed and it was great to be able to look at my calendar and know what was going on based on the colors. It was quite elaborate and my friends laughed at me, but I kept everything straight.
