Can you believe it’s already time to talk Mother’s Day? This year is flying by! Wasn’t it just Easter?! I have always loved Mother’s Day. Celebrating mothers seems like the most natural thing, but oftentimes, moms feel underappreciated– something I didn’t understand until I became a mom myself. Moms prioritize their families and their needs, sometimes at their own detriment. Because that’s what moms do, right?

I recently “read” a book called Find Your Unicorn Space by Eve Rodsky. The premise of the book is to find a hobby independent of your family and use that to recharge your soul. I’ve always been a fan of gifting people things that align with their hobbies, but since “reading” this I feel like it’s even more important to celebrate our interests and embrace our personal time.
(Side note: I have “read” in quotes because I listened to the book on Blinkist. Blinkist is an app that takes popular books and creates audio synopses that are around 20 minutes long. I can listen to the important points in a book in one nursing session! I am finally plowing through my to-be-read pile!)
With this in mind, I am officially recommending that you gift the moms in your life something that helps further their hobbies. And if they don’t have a hobby, something that encourages them to develop one.
Does your mom like to golf, or play tennis or pickleball? While the best gift would be to join her for a round or a match, she might also like a new outfit or accessory (like this Titleist hat, tennis skort, custom pickleball paddle, Stanley tumbler, or personalized tennis towel). After hitting the links, she’d love a fluffy new pair of slippers (these are my favorite!) and a spritz of a new perfume while sitting on the couch with a cheeky needlepoint pillow!
I have and love these Cool Mom hair clips, because I am indeed a cool mom. I love tea, and would like nothing more than to put the kettle on and have a cup in my favorite mug with my kids’ faces while in a fluffy robe under a heated blanket. Add some hand cream and a face mask, and I’m good.
What are you hoping to receive for Mother’s Day this year? As long as I get some time with my family, I’ll be happy. Enjoy your day, moms!
