When I was pregnant with Jack, I just HAD to have the trendy-spendy Uppababy Vista stroller. I loved that it converted to a double stroller, and that it worked so seamlessly with our Mesa car seat. As it turns out, it’s an amazing single stroller… but I hate it as a double. So I sold it and bought something else.

Why we sold our Vista stroller:
On our first few strolls as a trio, I had Grace in the bassinet on bottom and Jack in the toddler seat up top. This configuration worked great, albeit a little hard to steer. But with Grace in her car seat up top and Jack in the Rumble Seat on the bottom it is super front-heavy! So much so that I almost dumped them both out when I hit a bump in the road! SO not cool. Plus the Rumble Seat only holds 30-35 pounds depending on the version, and Jack is already maxing out! With both kids, it just felt HEAVY and wasn’t any fun to push.
What we got instead
My good friend Lizzie has boys about the same age as my kids and she did all sorts of research that I was able to benefit from. Thankfully, she found the Bumbleride Indie Twin stroller! The Bumbleride Indie Twin is technically a double jogging stroller. It has air-filled tires and a cushy suspension for a super smooth ride and is light feeling and easy to push.
The kids sit side by side for better weight distribution, but the Indie Twin is narrow enough to fit through all standard doorways!
The seats recline independently and can go completely flat, making it safe to use from 6 pounds and up. Although, if that isn’t your thing, they do also sell a bassinet attachment and adapters for most car seats.
Bumbleride is the most eco-friendly stroller brand on the market and the Indie Twin is made from recycled water bottles and made in the USA— how cool is that!
Best of all, each seat has a weight limit of 55 pounds. That’s almost twice the limit for the Vista’s original Rumble Seat!
On top of all that, it also has the features you’d come to expect in a top tier stroller: SPF sunshade, large basket, available parent console and snack trays, one-step brake, adjustable handlebar and footrests, and the all-important removable and machine-washable fabric.
After Lizzie shared with us, an astonishing ELEVEN friends have converted to Indie Twin and we are all ecstatic!
What is your preferred double stroller and why?
[…] double. As it turns out, it’s a great single stroller, but not so great as a double. I have a whole post about why I feel that way and what stroller we use now. If I had it to do over again, I’d […]
