This weekend, we celebrated Grace’s first birthday with a Grace in ONEderland tea party!

My in-laws were able to come in from Wisconsin, and together with my parents completed the guest list. We’re looking forward to someday being able to have larger in-person parties, but for now, our invitations include Zoom call-in details. It was still nice to see our friends and family on the occasion!
I will link everything at the end, so be sure to scroll all the way through!
I love this balloon arch! It was a great, big impact, statement piece! I was very thankful to outsource the assembly to my husband, but I used an electric balloon inflator to blow them up! I think I have carpal tunnel from tying the balloon knots LOL! It made for a great Zoom and photo backdrop.
What’s a tea party without tea?! Ours was served iced with lemonade because that’s how Mama and Dada like it LOL! I used our automatic iced tea maker to make sweet and unsweetened iced teas. We had macarons from Trader Joe’s and they were amazing! I used thin-cut bread to make chicken salad and cucumber smoked salmon sandwiches with scallion cream cheese.
We had homemade rainbow chip cupcakes and Grace devoured hers! Who am I kidding, we all devoured ours too!
I’m not sure who loved Grace’s gifts most, but the tea set has been a huge hit with them both! I was not expecting that, but it’s been a nice surprise. I will caveat this recommendation by saying that it is very loud, but it does have an off switch.
I love celebrating birthdays and always hope to make them feel special. This could be my last first birthday party so I didn’t want to feel like I could have done more, but also didn’t want to go over the top. Gracie Girl, you are so loved!!
The Details:
Outfits:
Grace’s dress is The Beaufort Bonnet Company (similar on sale!)
My pullover is Dudley Stephens, and headband is Lele Sadoughi for Lilly Pulitzer
Decorations:
The invitations and high chair banner were from the same Etsy shop
Balloon garland (Ours is the 12-foot and we only used the large balloons)
Don’t even consider balloon decor without also getting an inflator!! We have this one.
I used this tulle ribbon for just about everything!
Food:
The Alice in Wonderland-themed tags were from Etsy
Paper plates (large and small), and paper napkins are all Kate Aspen
The three-tier serving stand was a great find at less than $10!

Our iced tea maker was the real MVP of party prep! I made sweet and unsweet teas.
